31 Days of Celebrating Real Life [10/1/15]

31 Days of Real Life

It’s October, which means I’ve linked up with the 31 Days linky party sponsored by The Nester. This year, I’m still using the “real life” theme, but within the context of my new, real life.

I thought the first of this series should describe our real life. When you drive by our house or pull into our driveway, we appear to be a “normal” family. I wonder how many people who drive by think about us as the family with the little kids’ toys. I’m sure most don’t realize that we’re the house with the widow with two little kids.

Real life is hard this year. When I did this series last year, Keith had just started feeling ill and we had no idea what was about to happen. This year, I’m raising two kids by myself.

Being a widow is hard work.

I’m determined to prove that hard doesn’t mean impossible. And loss doesn’t mean no more joy. I’ve found that even on the hardest grief days, celebrating the wonderful, crazy, hilarious moments helps life to feel a bit more normal again.

I hope you’ll join me on my journey to 31 Days of Celebrating Real Life.
