Not Fine

That’s what I’d tell you if you asked, “how are you?”.

Life seems to be piling higher and deeper – McBaby comes in less than 2 months, Dad started chemo and is experiencing severe side effects, and the house is a mess because I can’t seem to pull it together. My thoughts are all over the place and I’m just trying to keep them from wandering too far. Not much I can do but wait, pray, and listen to some good music.

[Healing Begins – Tenth Avenue North]

Oh man, this song gets me every time. It is responsible for bringing on the tears after several weeks of eye dryness.

[You Never Let Go – Matt Redman]

Thankful for a song that I can close my eyes and just feel a big hug. I’m definitely feeling the “storm and rain” part of the lyrics.

[All My Fountains – Chris Tomlin & Passion Band]

I can’t describe why I love this song so much. It makes me happy. I think it’s the clapping.

[Beautiful Things – Gungor]

This song is really deep and powerful. If you’re only going to listen to one of these songs, this is the one. It’s all about how God redeems every situation. Nothing is too messy or too ugly for God to make something beautiful. What a different perspective!

So, for now I’ll just be sanding the crap out of the dresser for the nursery (yes, I said a “bad word” – I’m all about being honest about how I’m feeling). Whether or not you’re a praying person, would you pray for my dad and would you pray for Keith and I as we are so far away?

Linking up to Friday Favorites because I don’t know what I’d do without these songs!!

Dear Becky, I’m just stopping by from Friday Favorites and pausing in a sweet small space to give you a big hug. Beautiful Things is a favorite of mine as well, and after our 20th move in our 23 years of marriage, this fellow AF wife knows what “not fine” days feel like. I prayed for your dad just now, and your heart as you have to hug him across the miles. And your joy as McBaby is about to grace your lives together and turn your family into a cord of three. Many blessings to you in this day that He makes beautiful.

Thank you so much! I think it is so wonderful how just being in the Air Force gives us an extra support system! Really appreciate you stopping by and commenting!!

I have been praying and will continue to pray for you and all of your family; this is a very hard time…God is there with you in the hard times, and I pray He will bring good news and very, very real help to all of you soon. Take care of yourself as best you can; wish I could make things better. That little baby is going to bring a lot of love and joy to your life. Love, Cousin Susan
